Hondo and it is Cold

Yesterday we left Mission just as the weather was taking a turn for the worst. We figured if the wind was too strong, we'd just pull off at the next Wal-Mart and hunker down for the night. As it turned out, all went well and we drove the whole 300 miles, landing in Hondo around 3:00 p.m. The SKP park we were hoping to stay at was full, so we are at a small, very new park which is really quite nice. It is quiet, it is clean and the price is very reasonable at $125 for a week which includes electric.

I might add that the place we rented for the past month in Mission ultimately ended up costing us $600. $400 for a month, $100 for an extra week, and $122.00 for electric at .14 cents/kw hr. - Plus the purchase of 6 garbage bags (to comply with their rules) at $13.00 - the whole Mission experience turned out to be a bit on the spendy side. We're trying to keep other costs down as the price of fuel is climbing again.

Back to Hondo - Our site in the above picture. Jack of course in the bottom photo. He likes this park also, because there is actually grass with NO pickers to embed in his feet. The middle photo is a view from our coach. We're just waiting for the weather to warm up enough to enjoy our days here.
