More than 800 homes were destroyed across the Dallas area yesterday when as many as 18 tornadoes touched down, in what meteorologists are calling a very unusual tornado season. I'm glad I was out of town during all the excitement, but more importantly, I am so thankful we did not buy a home in Arlington last summer. We looked at several houses in that area and came close to making an offer on one. Arlington was the hardest hit yesterday.
We had also spent three months last spring at the Arlington KOA, and let me tell you, it is a frightening feeling being in an RV when there are tornado warnings. Sirens blaring and everyone huddling in a small concrete building that would likely not withstand a tornado....not a very safe feeling.
