STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) A "person of interest" in the shooting death of a Mississippi State University student has been arrested on capital murder charges in the weekend slaying.
MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley, in a news release, says 21-year-old Mason Perry Jones, of Jackson, was arrested Monday on capital murder charges in connection with the death of 21-year-old John Sanderson. The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested Jones in Memphis Sunday on an unrelated, outstanding robbery warrant.
Jones is one of three people suspected in the slaying of Sanderson, of Madison, Miss., who was shot Saturday on campus in Evans Hall.
